उस दिन जो रामजस कालेज में हुआ...एक स्टूडेंट का पत्र....
देश के गृह राज्यमंत्री किरन रिजिजू का कहना है कि केंद्र सरकार किसी भी कॉलेज या यूनिवर्सिटी को राष्ट्रविरोधी नारे लगाने वालों का अड्डा नहीं बनने देगी लेकिन यह मंत्री रामजस कॉलेज के उन सैकड़ों स्टूडेंस की आवाज सुनने को राजी नहीं है कि आखिर 22 फरवरी को उनके साथ क्या हुआ था...हिंसा करने वाले कौन थे। दिलीप सॉइमन के ब्लॉग पर मुझे रामजस कॉलेज के ही एक स्टूडेंट का पत्र मिला, जिससे सारी असलियत सामने आई है। मुख्यधारा की मीडिया में जो दिखाया गया और छापा गया, उससे भी ज्यादा बदमाशी उस दिन रामजस कॉलेज में हुई...कैसे पुलिस ने हिंसा करने वालों का साथ दिया कैसे एक गुंडागर्दी को अब देशभक्ति और गलत राष्ट्रवाद से जोड़ा जा रहा है, रामजस की घटना उसका जीता जागता उदाहरण है।...आने वाले दिनों में ऐसी घटनाएं बढ़ने वाली हैं और उसके नतीजे उन लोगों को भी भुगतने होंगे जिन्हें इस तरह के राष्ट्रवाद पर अभी बहुत प्रेम उमड़ रहा है...
अगर मिल सके तो 23 फरवरी को अमर उजाला ने पहले पेज पर एक फोटो छापा है जो बताता है कि पुलिस ने किस तरह इस घटना में हरकत की। आपको एक पुलिस वाला एक छात्रा को आपत्तिजनक से ढंग से छूता हुआ दिखाई देगा। यह फोटो फेसबुक पर वायरल हो चुका है। इसी पेज पर नीचे भी वो फोटो मौजूद है।
हो सकता है आप लोगों में बहुत सारे लोग किसी भी विचारधारा से न जुड़े न हों लेकिन आप अपने दिमाग से यह तो जरूर सोचें कि जिससे आपका मतभेद है, क्या आप उसे बोलने भी नहीं देंगे...आप पहले सुनते कि रामजस कॉलेज के सेमिनार में उमर खालिद और अन्य वक्ता क्या बोलने वाले हैं। आप उसकी विडियो रेकॉर्डिंग करते और उसके बाद वहां अगर वाकई कुछ राष्ट्रविरोधी बोला गया हो तो आपको भी विरोध करने का अधिकार है...लेकिन आप किसी को पहले ही न बोलने देने के लिए हिंसा करेंगे...
नीचे एक विडियो का लिंक है, जो पत्रकार रवीश कुमार के प्राइम टाइम का है। उसके जरिए आप जान सकते हैं कि दरअसल उस सेमिनार में तमाम वक्ता क्या बोलने वाले थे, जिसका एबीवीपी ने विरोध किया और उस सेमिनार को होने नहीं दिया। यह जानना महत्वपूर्ण है कि दरअसल एबीवीपी किन चीजों का विरोध कर रहा है।....

'They Tried To Strangle Me With My Muffler': A Day After, Shock And Anger At Ramjas College All of last evening there was shock and anger surrounding a particular image that social media users kept sharing - that of Delhi University professor Prasanta Chakravarty, half-lying on the ground, dazed and disoriented, his shirt torn, and a patch of dirt on his face, as mayhem continued all around him on the campus of Ramjas college in the northern part of the national capital. An attempt was allegedly made by suspected members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) to strangle Chakravarty with his own muffler. He was attacked from behind, pushed to the ground, kicked and beaten up.

I have not been able to sleep at night... The incidents, the violent scenes in the college were on a loop in my mind. They have all videographed us and hv given us rape threats and acid attack threats. They are constantly trying to instill fear in us... But we will not back down! We'll be out on the streets... protesting today as well...amidst their violence..their abuses..their threats! We won't let this fire to die down.
The beauty of this movement of resistance by Ramjas was that neutral students who dont associate with any student organization or political ideology ave also joined in numbers against the ABVP hooliganism. And they were able to rationally engage with what was going around in the campus. And they were with us...And they became "US".. And it was not a left vs right struggle...as was out in the media.. It was Ramjas against ABVP goondaism. It was silence doing it's magic against violence. We were peacefully sitting near canteen...fearful of the uncertainty looming around...
Questions of what next and who next...terrified us...traumatised us....as we saw friends getting beaten up...thrashed and manhandled by ABVP goondas..Our silence was hurting them...Our songs of resistance were pricking them.. They came up with the national flag...and hurled abuses...Chanted Bharat Mata ki Jai. We were silent. Although we were numerically less...Our silent mode of protest affected them so badly that they sporadically attacked us from different sides...trying to batter our strength.
Although it was disappointing for a lot of us to silently sit there while they provoked us and we couldn't hit them back... But still from the way we've carried out our protest yesterday..I've realized that sometimes silence works wonders! And it hit them at the right spot. As we were struggling inside ...Our friends outside the gate were carrying out the protest that we were not allowed to carry out... They were beaten up... But they didn't back down! We will not back down...The social media is flooded with their violence...first hand accounts of what happened. We are brutally exposing abvp...And will continue to do so. And hopefully this is the beginning of something DU has never seen or felt before!
